Yes. If you are using the font in one place on a page, using it everywhere on the page will engender zero additional load time. I don't know the details of Webtype's back end, but if it's like ours at WebINK, if they encounter the font anywhere on the site, it is loaded once and remains cached. In our case, for up to a month.
So no, performance is almost certainly not a reason to not use your web fonts more widely. It will help you avoid the dog's breakfast problem you have now where you are using four different typefaces. Ick.

The hip hop fantasy of wealth is very rococo; more is more. It stands to reason that it would reject the form of the symbol with fewer lines as not fancy enough.
Advertisements may be the flip side of that. They'll use every trick possible to make something seem like a better deal; they may have hit upon the idea that a simpler dollar sign psychologically looks cheaper.

Well, whaddya know, the following updates finally being given on SoftMaker's complete 15,000+-fonts typeface library are:
• Most of its Blackletter typefaces, either that are new or existing, each have "Regular (Original)" and "DFR (German Fraktur)" layouts instead of only one layout: "DFR (German Fraktur)", although some Blackletter typefaces like either new or existing will only have the "Regular (Original)" layout to be kept intact. The typical example for most of its Blackletter typefaces in "Regular (Original)" and "DFR (German Fraktur)" layouts is that of "E780 Blackletter" (an actual clone of Engravers Old English, which has the uppercase glyph of the letter "H" for the style of regular being updated, and so that glyph becomes looking just like the style of bold, and exactly the same as Monotype's version of Engravers Old English).
• The style "bold-italic" is finally appearing to be added to the following font names: "Bestseller" (Berling clone), "German Garamond" (Garamond No. 4 clone), "Garamond Original" (Garamond No. 2/Garamond, Stempel clone), and "Savoy" (Sabon clone), making it 4 styles instead of only 3 each, marking as SoftMaker's exclusive typeface family updates; Also, SoftMaker's clone of "Lucian ATF" appears to have the regular and bold styles with italic parts being added, marking SoftMaker's other exclusive typeface family.

1) I understand that working with TT beziers is more painful than PS curves. Am i right?
2) I primarily work with PS curves and and the .otf file renders the font flawlessly but the .tff file look is very lumpy. The curves are still PS while generating the TTF. Is this because of the difference between PS and TT curves?
3) I also want to know if you guys produce both .ttf and .otf files or just .otf files.

1) Right. Few type designers work directly in TT curves, at least during the design and drawing stages.
2) What do you mean by "lumpy"? The conversion is usually fairly faithful, but conversion from PS outlines to TT outlines usually adds some extra points to the outline and this can sometimes lead to less than faithful conversion. It's typically best to increase the UPM of the font to 2000 or 2048 before converting to TT outlines for this reason.
3) I do both. I would prefer to just do .otf, but some customers prefer .ttf.

SoftMaker Software GmbH, as of 2012/2013, is finally creating the new upcoming versions of these two premium-quality typeface collections - "infiniType 4" for designers, and "MegaFont XXL 3.0" for home users - however, the following typeface families being removed were Rough, Funky, Dirty, and all 4 typeface families with multiple variations in "heavyweight" form (Bodoni, Fraktur, Imperial, and Stencil). The most noticeable change was that most Blackletter typefaces (including the ones that are licensed from either URW++ or the "Berthold" part of Brendel), get split up from "DFR" layout only to include two layouts each - original and "DFR" - but some Blackletter typefaces keep their original layout intact (no "DFR" layout). Approx. 10,000 more standard typefaces were being added to over MORE than 5,000 that are included, including many finally returning from the predecessors of SoftMaker's "MegaFont XXL" collection, the rest of many of its typefaces under license from Brendel Informatik (Cologne) and URW++, the rest of Brendel Type Studio's "Serials" collection, and even some new exclusive typeface designs finally being added, marking as its new total of over 15,000+ standard typefaces to be included on both font collections. According to Martin Kotulla, both "infiniType 4" for designers and "MegaFont XXL 3.0" for home users are being released in Germany and European Union around May 27, 2014.
Here's a list of over 2,222 font names, which were either families or sub-families - 15,000+ standard typefaces as all their worth - in complete alphabetical order. These 2,222 font names that are either families or sub-families - 15,000+ standard typefaces as all their worth, from SoftMaker's complete typeface library - are being transferred from SoftMaker's "infiniType 4" premium-quality typeface collection to being included on numerous "U.S. & Canada"-related cheap typeface collections beginning in July 1, 2014. One of the examples include most of Broderbund's "ClickArt" packages of thousands of fonts, such as that of the "ClickArt Fonts Special Edition" collection (which includes 19,000+ Windows & Macintosh OpenType fonts in "TrueType" form - 15,000+ standard typefaces from SoftMaker Software GmbH, 2,000+ typefaces from Bay Animation, Inc., 1,500 children's creative typefaces, and 500 exclusive ClickArt Handwritten Fonts - plus 10,800+ alphabet images and 10,200+ headline images), being re-issued as one of the 12 best-selling individual image collections from Broderbund's "ClickArt" brand, around the 2nd-half part of 2014; another example is that SelectSoft Publishing is releasing the following three cheap font collections in July 8, 2014: the "QuickStart Super Fonts" collection, which features approx. 15,000+ fonts from the SoftMaker library that are the same that are each in two formats (TrueType and PostScript), and the two-product "QuickStart Professional Fonts" series, which each feature approx. 7,500+ typefaces in different names and exactly the same in two formats - TrueType and PostScript - and featured on both the "Decorative & Script" and "Headline & Text" font collections, all of which will each have a font management system appearing, and'll also be released in July 8, 2014 - and that these three font collections from SelectSoft Publishing's "QuickStart" brand costs either "$4.99" for the two-product "Professional Fonts" series with 7,500+ typefaces each in different names or "$9.99" for the "Super Fonts" collection with all 15,000+ typefaces.
