In reply to Fontsite/Softmaker: so what?:
Well, whaddya know, the following updates finally being given on SoftMaker's complete 15,000+-fonts typeface library are:
• Most Blackletter typefaces, either that are new or existing, each have "Regular (Original)" and "DFR (German Fraktur)" layouts instead of only one layout: "DFR (German Fraktur)", although some Blackletter typefaces like either new or existing will only have the "Regular (Original)" layout to be kept intact.
• The style "bold-italic" is appearing to be added to the following font names: "Bestseller" (Berling clone), "German Garamond" (Garamond No. 4 clone), "Garamond Original" (Garamond No. 2/Garamond, Stempel clone) and "Savoy" (Sabon clone), making it 4 styles instead of only 3 each, marking as SoftMaker's exclusive typeface family updates; Also, SoftMaker's clone of "Lucian ATF" appears to have the regular and bold styles with italic parts being added, marking SoftMaker's other exclusive typeface family.
• SoftMaker's exclusive typeface families under license from URW++ include: "Clarendon Recut" (a clone of "Clarendon" in four styles each for regular, condensed and extended widths; the small caps part is only in its regular width in two styles), "Goudy Recut" (a clone of "Goudy Old Style/Goudy Catalogue" in eight styles each for both the regular and old-style figured parts; the small caps part only has two styles), "Baskerville Recut" (a clone of "Baskerville Old Face" in eight styles each for both the regular and old-style figured parts; the small caps part is only two styles), "Goudy Recut Display" (a clone of "Goudy Heavyface" in two styles - regular and italic - each for the regular and old-style figured parts; the small caps part only has one style), "Caslon Recut" (a clone of "Adobe Caslon" in the design of Horsham Serial with eight styles each for both the regular and old-style figured parts; the small caps part is only two styles), "Garamond Recut" (a clone of "Adobe Garamond" in the design of Garamond Serial with eight styles each for both the regular and old-style figured parts), "Antiqua Original" and "Grotesk Original" (the clones of "URW Antiqua" and "URW Grotesk" respectively, each have 12 styles in regular and the small-caps parts each have 3 styles), and "Bodoni Elegant" (a clone of Linotype Bodoni in elegant script-based italic form with three styles - regular, alt, and swash), and even couples of others.
• SoftMaker's exclusive typeface designs under license from both URW++ and Brendel Informatik (Cologne) include fewer Blackletter fonts such as "Best Text Black" (a heavyweight version of "Engravers Old English" with the uppercase glyphs "H" and "K" and the lowercase glyphs "y" and "z" looking quite similar to Cloister Black, and comes in both the regular and dfr styles), "Rare Text Black" (which appears in the same exact typeface design as "Best Text Black" except that this only comes in the "original" layout, no German Fraktur), "C750 Blackletter" and "H782 Blackletter" (both being numbered from the uncial-like "Chrodist Gotisch" and the art deco-like "Holy Text Gothic" respectively, each come in four styles - regular, dfr, bold, and bold-dfr), etc., "Authorized Script" (a half-formal/half-informal cursive script font in three styles - light, medium, and bold), "Destiny" (an exact art deco-like uncial font with three styles - light, medium, and bold), "Overlord" (an uncial-like formal script font in the form of middleweight), "H785 Script" (a clone of one of Doyald Young's best-known script fonts that became recently released as Home Run Script-roman, numbered from "Homer" with numbers in regular glyph form instead of being old-style figured, the "@/at" symbol not inverted, and the Euro Symbol and some Math symbols look quite different), "Codex" (an all-uppercase only, heavy-weight slab-serif font with Western spurs), "Dixieland" (an all-uppercase only, middle-weight rounded slab serif font with Western spurs), fewer typeface designs with extended families based on famous logos such as "Cantina" (Chrysler's current logo font that has two uppercase parts - bigger for "uppercase" and smaller for "lowercase" - and with six styles - light, regular, medium, bold, heavy, and black), "Johnston" (an "ABC/ABC Studios"-based Bauhaus-like sans serif font with three styles - regular, bold, and black - the poster variation is "black" only), "Purcell" (Duracell's current logo font with three styles - regular, bold, and black - the poster variation is "black" only), etc., "Portland" (an exact mixtured clone of Abilene and Rodeo No. 57 that appears similar to an all-uppercase only font, but has two uppercase sets - larger with western spurs, and smaller without western spurs), "Compass" (an exact mixture of Frankfurter and the original VAG Rundschrift, becoming an all-uppercase only font as an exact look-alike of Frankfurter in the same exact weight as the original VAG Rundschrift), "Racetrack" (another half-formal/half-informal cursive script font in three styles - light, medium, and bold), Rathbone (an exact script-like uncial font in three styles - light, medium, and bold), "Standard Joining Script" (an exact mixture of Commercial Script and Agfa/Compugraphic's "Original Script", and comes in the styles of regular and bold), "B823 Deco" (a clone of an uppercase-only font, Broadside, numbered from Broad Slab), "Marchon" (an all-uppercase only heavy-weight square sans-serif font), "C722 Geometrical" (an exact mixtured clone of ITC Kabel and Kabel by Stempel, comes in 3 styles each for regular and small-caps parts - Regular, Bold, and Black - numbered from Channel), "S731 Deco" (numbered from Sinclair, an exact all-uppercase only art deco font), "Grand Script" (an art deco-like formal script font in the form of middleweight), "Spectra" (an all-uppercase only art-deco like stencil sans font in 3 styles - Light, Medium, and Bold), and even some others.
